Svante Pääbo ( [ˈsvânːtɛ̂ ˈpʰɛ̌ːbʊ̂] en suédois 1 ), né le 20 avril 1955 à Stockholm, est un biologiste et anthropologue suédois qui s'est spécialisé dans la paléogénétique humaine, dont il est l'un des pionniers.
Svante Pääbo is a Swedish geneticist who sequenced the genome of the Neanderthal and discovered a new hominin, Denisova. He also found that ancient genes from these extinct hominins have influenced modern humans' immune system.
