Haileybury is a leading and inclusive school in Hertfordshire, England, that traces its origins to the former East India College. Learn about its transformation from a boys' boarding school to a co-educational institution with a diverse and international community.
The Imperial Service College (ISC) was an English independent school based in Windsor, originally known as St. Mark's School when it was founded in 1845. In 1906, St Mark’s School absorbed boys from the former United Services College, which had failed.
The East India Company was nationalised and the college closed in 1858, becoming a public school with continuing ties to the former college. The college buildings survive and are now occupied by the public school's successor, Haileybury and Imperial Service College, a private school.
