Robert Brunning (29 June 1943 – 18 October 2011) was a British musician who was, as a small part of a long musical career, the original bass guitar player with the blues rock band Fleetwood Mac.

Formé par les guitaristes Peter Green et Jeremy Spencer et le batteur Mick Fleetwood en 1967, le groupe engage un premier bassiste, Bob Brunning, avant l'arrivée de John McVie, qui établit la première formation stable du groupe. Fleetwood Mac enregistre alors son premier album homonyme en 1968.

Green recruited drummer Mick Fleetwood, guitarist and singer Jeremy Spencer and bassist Bob Brunning, with John McVie replacing Brunning a few weeks after the band's first public appearance at the 1967 National Jazz & Blues Festival in Windsor. Guitarist and singer Danny Kirwan joined in 1968.
