David Hungate (born August 5, 1948) is an American bass guitarist noted as a member of the Los Angeles pop-rock band Toto from 1976 to 1982 and again from 2014 to 2015, and the son of judge William L. Hungate.
David Hungate is a bassist, producer and arranger, best known for his work with LA supergroup Toto. Throughout the course of his career, Hungate has been an in-demand session player, both in Los Angeles and Nashville.

Toto est un groupe américain de pop rock, originaire de Los Angeles, en Californie. Il est formé en 1976 par Jeff Porcaro (batterie) et David Paich (claviers), auxquels se joignent Steve Lukather (guitare), Steve Porcaro (claviers), David Hungate (basse) et Bobby Kimball (chant).
In his stead, original bass player David Hungate rejoined the band. They once again toured the United States in spring 2014 as co-headliners with Michael McDonald. It was their most comprehensive tour on the continent in years.
