  4. The Cleftones were an American doo-wop group, formed in 1955. The group’s original lineup consisted of lead singer Herman Curtis, first tenor and founding member Eddie Williams, baritone and bass Bill Horton, and second tenor Warren Corbin.

  5. Pressured to make a living for his family, Warren Corbin had already dropped out of the group. In 1964, DJ Porky Chedwick decided that he loved the Cleftones' 6-year-old "Lover Boy." He played it and pushed it, until it became #1 in Pittsburgh.
