Taylor Locke and the Roughs is a 4-piece rock band based out of Los Angeles, CA. It consists of guitarist Taylor Locke from the band Rooney, guitarist/keyboardist Chris Price from the band Price, bassist Brandon Schwartzel (from the band FIDLAR), and drummer Joe Seiders (from the New Pornographers).
Taylor Locke is a multi-talented artist who plays the lead guitar in the band Rooney and has appeared in several films and TV shows. He was born in Los Angeles in 1984 and has also worked as a composer and writer for his own projects and others.

Rooney first formed as Ed Rooney in 1999. The original lineup consisted of Robert Schwartzman, Matthew Winter on bass, Teddy Briggs on drums, and Matthew Star (née Srolestar) and Taylor Locke on guitar. Ned Brower replaced Briggs as drummer and Louie Stephens was added as keyboardist.
