Raphael House is an Integrated Rudolf Steiner Area School which offers a broad based Waldorf education to children and students from the age of 4 years (Kindergarten) to 18 years, Class 12 (Year 13).
Raphael House opened as a private school to 12 children on June 11th 1979. Earlier in December 1978 the Rudolf Steiner School Trust had been registered and in 1979 they bought the existing site (then 3.2 hectares) of mostly gorse with rejuvenating bush.
Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School is a coeducational, state integrated composite school in Tirohanga, Lower Hutt. It provides a Waldorf education for Years 1 to 13. Matriculation starts when children are 7 years of age.
Raphael House is a state funded Rudolf Steiner/Waldorf school. We have about 370 students ranging from age 4 1/2 (in the Kindergarten) to age 18. Our school offers rich academic, sporting, cultural and outdoor education opportunities.
