Richard Woodville ou Wydeville (mort le 12 août 1469), 1 er comte Rivers (en), est un important baron anglais du XV e siècle [1]. Biographie. Il est le fils de Richard Wydeville (mort vers 1441), un soldat et administrateur anglais issu d'une modeste famille de la gentry du Northamptonshire [1].

Richard Woodville, 1st Earl Rivers (died Aug. 12, 1469, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, Eng.) was the father-in-law of the Yorkist king Edward IV of England (reigned 1461–70, 1471–83). Nobles opposed to Rivers initiated the uprising that temporarily drove Edward into exile in 1470.

Richard Woodville was a knight and a Lancastrian supporter who married Jacquetta, widow of John Duke of Bedford. He rose to become a counsellor and an earl under Edward IV, but was executed by Warwick in 1469.
