Magdalen College of the Liberal Arts (formerly Northeast Catholic College, [1] The College of Saint Mary Magdalen, [3] and simply Magdalen College [2]) was a private Catholic liberal arts college in Warner, New Hampshire. The college opened in 1973. Enrollment never exceeded 90 students and it closed in May 2024.
In many early documents, the name is clearly spelt as pronounced: 'Maudleyn', containing within it the name of Audley. The final 'e' on Magdalene was an attempt, with the advent of the postal service in the mid nineteenth-century, to distinguish Magdalene Cambridge from our sister College, Magdalen Oxford.
But no one at the college undertakes this journey alone. The students, the faculty, and the larger community of the college support one another within and outside the classroom as we seek to become fully human and fully free.
