In the film, Walter Huston as "Frame 'Saint' Johnson, saves Andy Devine from a lynch mob. While Wyatt Earp actually did this in Tombstone, this event was not covered in Burnett's novel. The most surprising aspect of the film is how gritty it is. As an historical example of early 1930s style film making, the movie is definitely worth watching.
