Leonard Bernstein, né sous le nom de Louis Bernstein le 25 août 1918 à Lawrence, Massachusetts, (États-Unis) et mort le 14 octobre 1990 à New York, est un compositeur, chef d'orchestre et pianiste américain. Il est notamment l'auteur de la partition de la comédie musicale West Side Story et fut durant onze années le directeur de l'Orchestre philharmonique de New York.
