C'est seulement lorsque « settler » est employé en tant qu'adjectif que j'ai du mal à le traduire. (Au Canada, « nouveaux arrivants » est le terme consacré pour désigner les immigrants récents, donc c'est à éviter pour traduire « settler ».)
