Józef Adam Zygmunt Cyrankiewicz (pronounced [ˈjuzɛf t͡sɨranˈkʲɛvit͡ʂ] ⓘ; 23 April 1911 – 20 January 1989) was a Polish Socialist (PPS) and after 1948 Communist politician. He served as premier of the Polish People's Republic between 1947 and 1952, and again for 16 years between 1954 and 1970.
Jozef Cyrankiewicz (23 Apr. 1911 – 20 Jan. 1989) was a Polish socialist/communist politician who was active in the Polish resistance movement during the war. He was captured by the Germans and sent to the Auschwitz Camp, where he supposedly helped organizing the camp’s resistance groups, although that is contested today.
