Princess from the Moon (竹取物語, Taketori Monogatari, lit. The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter) is a 1987 Japanese film directed by Kon Ichikawa. It is based on The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, a 10th-century Japanese fairy tale about a girl from the Moon who is discovered as a baby inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant.

5 janv. 2022 · Having lost a child, Taketori-no-Miyatsuko (Toshirô Mifune) and his wife (Ayako Wakao) can't believe it when a bright light deposits a baby in the forest by their house. They decide to keep her, naming her Kaya (Yasuko Sawaguchi), and are amazed when she grows overnight from infancy to childhood.
