The Military and Political University of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression was the highest military academy of the CPC-led people's army. It was opened in June 1936 and ended its mission in September 1945 with victory in the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
It was the anthem of the Counter-Japanese Military and Political University and is the anthem of the present day PLA National Defence University. It is also commonly played during military parades. The lyrics were written by Kai Feng and the music composed by Lu Ji in November 1937.

College established in Yan'an (Communist base area) in 1936 during the War of Resistance against the Japanese. It was originally called Chinese Resistance against the Japanese Red Army University, and was renamed in January 1937. It is best known in Chinese by its shorter name Kangda.
