  2. The King Alfred School is a co-educational independent day school in Golders Green in North West London. It was founded in London in 1898 [2] by Charles E. Rice, a former teacher at Bedales School [citation needed].

  3. King Alfred School is an informal independent day school situated on the edge of Hampstead Heath in London. With over 700 students from Reception age through to a flourishing Sixth Form, we are a vibrant and friendly community where the emphasis, both academically and socially, is on discovering and maximising the potential of each child.

    Childen can be registered for entry at most ages, with the exception of Year 11 & 13. The main point of entry is age 4 (Reception Class), with additional places available at age 11 (Year 7) and age 16 (Year 12) Occasional places can become available in other years (apart from Year 11 and Year 13).

    The first stage is to complete an application form for the relevant point of entry and pay the non-refundable registration fee of £100. When the application is received, the child’s name will be then put on the waiting list but this does not guarantee a place.
