Pete's departure from Smokie came in 1982. He was the co-writer of "Mexican Girl" and has since played on some of Chris Norman's solo albums.
Ron Kelly left Kindness on 8 August 1973 and the band recruited an old school friend, Pete Spencer (drums/vocals), who had played in various groups (including with Allan Holdsworth), to drum for them.
Lead singer and guitarist Pete Lincoln is the newest member of the band, joining in April 2021. Pete was born on 15 March 1956 and grew up in his native Geordieland, Newcastle upon Tyne in the north east of England.

1974 lernten sie über Bill Hurley den Schlagzeuger Peter David „Pete“ Spencer (* 13. Oktober 1948, Leeds) kennen und nahmen Kontakt zum berühmten Songwriter-Duo Nicky Chinn und Mike Chapman (Chinnichap Records) auf, das durch die Zusammenarbeit mit Künstlern wie The Sweet, Suzi Quatro und Mud schon große Erfolge feiern konnte.
