Samuel Strain Jr. (born December 9, 1939) note is an American R&B vocalist, known for his time as a member of Little Anthony and the Imperials (1961–1972; 1992–2004) and The O'Jays (1976–1992). [1]

Sammy Strain. Though not a household name by any means, Sammy Strain has a unique place in music history: he is a two time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Both as a member of the sweet soul group Little Anthony & The Imperials and as a second generation member of The O’Jays.
Sammy Strain. (b. December 9 th, 1941). Singer and songwriter who came to prominence as a member of R&B vocal groups from the Chips, Fantastics, Impacts, Blue Chips, Imperials and Little Anthony & the Imperials to the O’Jays.
The O'Jays never again achieved pop success. In 1992, Sammy Strain left the group and returned to the Imperials. Later in the 1990s, the group did little recording. On October 30, 2010, the group performed at Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert 's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear in Washington, D.C.
