Their most commercially successful album What a Crying Shame has been certified platinum in the United States and double-platinum in Canada. In addition, the band has received one Grammy Award , two Country Music Association awards, and three Academy of Country Music awards.
Mavericks favourite Trisha Yearwood sings backup with Raul on the pretty, midtempo ballad Neon Blue, another delight on a record full of them. While this 1994 album isn't quite as varied as, say, the later Trampoline, it's still The Mavericks at their impassioned best.
