Bernard "Beloyd" Taylor was an American R&B songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (mainly guitar and percussion) and vocalist born on September 7, 1952 in Cleveland, OH. Taylor joined S.O.U.L. in 1972 and was a touring member of Earth, Wind & Fire in 1981/1982. He died in Cleveland on January 13, 2014.

Originally beginning his career as a guitarist with Cleveland, OH band S.O.U.L, Taylor began working with Earth, Wind & Fire as a songwriter in 1976, assisting on the Spirit album.
Beloyd is fondly remembered by soul fans for his 20th Century Records single 'Get Into Your Life'. He is a fine guitarist and vocalist. Beloyd's birth place is a mystery, however, he grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S.A.

Spirit is the seventh studio album by American band Earth, Wind & Fire, released on September 28, 1976, by Columbia Records. [1] The album rose to No. 2 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Soul Albums charts. [2] [3] Spirit has also been certified Double Platinum in the US by the RIAA.
