Information. This painting is by the renowned society portrait painter, Glyn Philpot. It shows Irene Frances Adza Denison (1890 - 1956) in formal dress. Denison was the only daughter of the second Earl of Londesborough and Lady Grace Adelaide Fane. She is best remembered for her charitable work.
Her ornaments consisted of long flexible chain of diamonds, the gift of the King and Queen of Spain, and a large magnificent spray of diamonds >>, an heirloom the bridegroom's family, once owned by the Princess of Battenberg.
