Papa Emeritus Nihil, formerly known as "Papa Emeritus Zero", is a member of The Clergy, and was the frontman of Ghost during the Seven Inches of Satanic Panic cycle in 1969. He is the father of Papa Emeritus, Papa Emeritus II, and Papa Emeritus III.
Originally introduced as Papa Emeritus Zero, Nihil is the ancestor of all previous Papa Emeritus characters, and after the "deaths" of his descendants, was the only surviving member of the Papa Emeritus lineage that we know of.

Papa Nihil, or Papa Emeritus Zero, sometimes also referred to as "Sax God XD", first appeared at a Ritual on September 30, 2017, after the final performance of Papa Emeritus III was abruptly ended.
According to Ghost's fictional backstory, Seven Inches of Satanic Panic contains two songs that were written and recorded by an early incarnation of the band in 1969, when Papa Emeritus Nihil was the vocalist.
