7 avr. 2009 · Banned. The terms are not really synonyms. A tomb is something that is built over a place where a body has been laid, or perhaps a room carved into rock in order to receive a body. A grave is the hole in the ground into which the body is placed. As nothing has been placed on the grave, you cannot call it a "tomb".

"Beyond the grave" - this is related to things that happen after death, but you'll find this expression used a lot when it comes to a connection between the dead and the living. "Talking from beyond the grave" - the words of the dead person are still audible (metaphorically speaking) today.

Unless I am much mistaken, there are no French words ending in è that can stand alone (without hyphenation to another word immediately after). It is difficult to "describe" pronunciation, and much more practical to listen to it.
