Derek Alton Walcott est un poète, dramaturge et essayiste Saint-Lucien de langue anglaise, né le 23 janvier 1930 à Castries et mort le 17 mars 2017 à Cap Estate sur l'île de Sainte-Lucie. Son poème épique Omeros (en), inspirée de l' Iliade est considéré comme son œuvre majeure par de nombreux critiques littéraires.
