  3. 23 déc. 2015 · UK English. Dec 23, 2015. #2. A takeout is the meal (often takeaway in BE). A delivery is a delivery of a takeout. So they are not the same thing. I would expect to hear "I ordered a takeout". I would also expect "I'm expecting a delivery". In neither case would I say some with your examples.

I was to receive the delivery of the goods today / by today. I am to receive the delivery of the goods today / by today. I am to receive the delivery of the goods tomorrow/ by tomorrow.

  5. 22 janv. 2015 · I can't choose between the two verb forms; it is a grammar exercise about different forms used to express future events. "The goods are being delivered OR will be delivered tomorrow". I suppose there are no grammar mistakes in neither of the two forms, it may be a matter of language use; "Tomorrow" suggests that the delivery has been already ...

"A payment of 10 percent is due when your order is ready to be shipped." It is not an exact, literal translation but it is a common way of saying it in English.

  8. 28 juin 2006 · For example, if I was to use La Poste's "lettre en ligne" service I would get "next day" delivery? Their site states: Si vous déposez votre Lettre en Ligne avant 19h (heure du serveur de La Poste, France métropolitaine) hors dimanche et jours fériés, la Lettre en Ligne est imprimée, mise sous pli et datée le jour même. Dans le cas ...

  9. 6 oct. 2021 · French. Oct 6, 2021. #1. Hello everybody. Is the expression "commercial gesture" used in English as a synonym for "gesture of goodwill" in business? Context/example : "I really do apologise for the delay in delivery. As a commercial gesture, I can offer you a 10% discount on your next order." Are there any other synonyms for "gesture of goodwill"?

  10. 24 juin 2009 · France - French. Dec 13, 2012. #13. Well it's at the end of a quote that is being sent attached to an email. I'll end the email with "Best Regards", but don't know how to finish the quote. Usually it ends with "Vous souhaitant bonne réception de la présente offre et restant dans l'attente de votre retour, veuillez recevoir nos salutations ...
