Viswanathan Anand [1] ou Anand [2], dit Vishy Anand (en tamoul : விசுவநாதன் ஆனந்த், prononcé /ʋ i ʃ ʋ ə ˈ n̪ a ː t̪ ə n ˈ a ː n ə n̪ d̪ /), né le 11 décembre 1969 à Madras (aujourd'hui Chennai) en Inde, est un joueur d'échecs indien, grand maître international depuis 1988.
Viswanathan "Vishy" Anand (born 11 December 1969) is an Indian chess grandmaster, a former five-time World Chess Champion and a record two-time Chess World Cup Champion. He became the first grandmaster from India in 1988, and he has the eighth-highest peak FIDE rating of all time. In 2022, he was elected the deputy president of FIDE.
