Thayendanegea or Joseph Brant (1742 – November 24, 1807) was a Mohawk leader and British military officer during the American Revolution.Brant was perhaps the most well-known North American Native of his generation, meeting and negotiating with presidents and kings of England, France and the newly formed United States.
