Can I conclude that "ashes" is the only words that doesn't belong to the following group of words that are in plural form but have singular meaning. Economics. civics.

The ashtray was full of cigarette ashes (from more than one cigarette). If I burn one thing, it creates an ash. More than one thing creates ashes. Of course there are instances where we have "collective" nouns.
