The classes in our five departments examine topics critical to all organizations, from leadership, teamwork and negotiations, to globalization, the impact of technology on work, and labor relations and rights around the world. ILR students take foundation classes in law, management, history, organizational psychology, economics and statistics.

Students complete a minimum of 16 courses and 48 credits in courses, including required courses in labor relations, organizational behavior, labor economics, labor and employment law, human resource management, and statistics. Candidates with a JD or MBA. degree from a U.S. institution may be able to obtain the MILR degree in one year.

Students enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell may take a substantial number of courses in the other six undergraduate colleges and schools of the university, including the College of Arts and Sciences. Cornell students have access to all of the libraries and other services of the univer­ sity.
