Marcus Hutson left the group in 1992 due to prostate cancer. According to the Whispers' website, when Hutson died of it on May 23, 2000, they vowed to never replace him, and started performing as a quartet.

6 janv. 2016 · Les Whispers sont formés par les frères Scott au milieu des années 1960 à Los Angeles. Marcus Hutson, Gordy Hamilton et surtout Nicholas Caldwell se joignent rapidement à eux. C’est l’arrivée chez « Soul Train Records », plus tard « Sound Of Los Angeles Records », qui change tout.
The Whispers se forme en 1964 par les frères jumeaux Walter (Scotty) et Wallace Scott qui recrutent les chanteurs Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson et Gordy Harmon. Signés par le petit label Dore, leur style vocal soul s'apparente à celui de The Temptations, à la fois héritiers du gospel et contemporain de cet âge d'or.
Histoire. Le groupe se forme en 1964 autour des jumeaux Walter et Scotty Scott et de Gordy Harmon, Marcus Hutson et Nicholas Caldwell. En 1973 Harmon est remplacé par Leaveil Degree, ancien membre des Friends of Distinction.
