The hard part about carbon half-shafts, torque-tubes, and drive-shafts is the sheer transfer of torsional loading from the carbon tube to the metal fitments that attach to the flexible couplings at the end of the shaft.
TorqueMaster springs are not visible because they are inside the torsion tube. This system was designed for safety to avoid some of the risks involved with replacing standard torsion springs. Over the years Wayne Dalton has designed two types of winders to tension the springs.

1 nov. 2011 · Pull the shaft, replace the shaft log rubber tube, replace stuffing box, replace prop shaft, attach coupling, align prop shaft. This is a good time to replace cutlass bearing if it needs it, and to repack stuffing box.
