Robert « Bob » Martinez, né le 25 décembre 1934 à Tampa, est un homme politique américain membre du Parti républicain. Il a été gouverneur de Floride entre 1987 et 1991 et fut le premier homme d'origine hispanique à accéder à ce poste.
Robert Martinez (born December 25, 1934) is an American retired politician who served as the 40th governor of Florida from 1987 to 1991. A member of the Republican Party , Martinez was the first person of Spanish descent to be elected governor of Florida.
Incumbent Republican Governor Bob Martinez, who was just the second member of his party elected Governor of Florida after Reconstruction, was deeply unpopular. His job approval rating had sunk to around 24% after, in 1989, he called the Florida Legislature into special session in an effort to pass pro-life laws.
