David Vaughan (1962-2023) was a British climate scientist and a co-ordinating Lead Author of the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report. He studied the role of ice sheets in the Earth system and the threat of sea-level rise, and discovered a subglacial volcano in Antarctica.
