  2. Fleet history. Alaska Airlines received its first Boeing 727-100 jet in 1966. Since the 1960s, Alaska has consistently operated Boeing jet aircraft in its fleet. The first jetliner type operated by the airline was the Convair 880. Alaska also operated the Convair 990 jetliner.
