Monty Miranda is a director, writer and producer. He was born at Hahn Air Base, Germany. He began his post high school studies at the Air Force Academy and after six challenging months and one easy decision; he resigned and enrolled in the University of Colorado to study filmmaking and journalism.

The Insomniac is a 2013 American whodunit psychological thriller written by Eddy Salazar and Peter Kenneth Jones, and directed by Monty Miranda. The feature film stars Salazar in the title role, Clare Grant, Keith Szarabajka, John Heard, and Danny Trejo.
However, Monty believes that Earth will apparently never recover and, before dying of old age, sets the prison ship on a course for a new world.
