Brian David Gilbert (born: January 29, 1994 (1994-01-29) [age 30]), sometimes referred to as BDG, is a writer, actor, musician, and video producer who hosts the show "Unraveled" on the Polygon channel, wherein he frequently becomes unraveled. He uploads "songs and things" to his personal channel.
Brian David Gilbert was born during an ice storm in Baltimore, Maryland on January 29, 1994. He has two older siblings: a brother named Patrick and a sister named Laura.
He has made public that because he does not have a Roth IRA plan, he can't retire until age 88. This will be unattainable according to his autobiography, which recounts that a demon projected his date of death to be May 6, 2030.
Brian David Gilbert's claim to fame is the "Unraveled" series, which he hosted on Polygon's YouTube channel from 2018 to 2020. The series followed Gilbert as he researched and dissected seemingly useless aspects of video games. Topics ranged from attempting to chronologically map out the timeline of the Legend of Zelda series – including non-canonical entries such as Super Smash Bros. – to calculating which boss from the Dark Souls series would make the best office manager. Gilbert often started the "Unraveled" videos composed and confident, but quickly devolved into a frenetic, almost manic state – unraveling himself, as it were.
The series ended on December 28th, 2020, with the long-anticipated exploration of which Pokémon is the most edible (the answer was Togepi).
