Anton von Maron (né sous le nom d'Anton Maron le 8 janvier 1731 à Vienne et mort le 3 mars 1808 à Rome) est un peintre autrichien, essentiellement portraitiste.
Anton von Maron (8 January 1733, Vienna – 3 March 1808, Rome) was an Austrian painter who specialized in portraits. Most of his career was spent in Rome.

Anton von Maron, was one of the first artists to pose his sitters en plein air before the monuments and together with Nathaniel Dance and Pompeo Battoni, were the most sought after ‘souvenir’ portraitists of the visiting aristocracy.
Von Maron’s reputation reached its peak in the 1780s when he was elected Principe of the Accademia di San Luca. He painted portraits for many of its members including that of the antiquarian dealers James Byres, Thomas Jenkins and the artist Andrea Vici.
1733-1808, peintre autrichien. Né à Vienne, Anton von Maron déménage tout jeune avec sa famille à Rome, il y étudie avec le peintre Anton Raphaël Mengs et devient portraitiste. Von Maron épouse la sœur de Mengs également peintre. L'artiste passe le reste de sa carrière à Rome où il meurt en 1808.
