Amon G. Carter Stadium is an open-air football stadium on the campus of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. It is the home stadium of the TCU Horned Frogs football team. It is named after Amon G. Carter, a prominent Fort Worth businessman, newspaper publisher, and city booster.

When the TCU Horned Frogs football team started to attract crowds larger than they could imagine, Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, knew it was time to build a new stadium. Thus, Amon G. Carter Stadium, an open-air football stadium located on the campus of TCU was constructed.
16 nov. 2010 · Amon G. Carter Stadium opened on Oct. 11, 1930 with a 40-0 win over Arkansas in front of a then-capacity crowd of 22,000 fans. The stadium closed with another capacity crowd, this time of 45,694, who watched the Frogs beat San Diego State 40-35.
When the Horned Frogs faithful began to overflow the stands at the team’s home field, Clark Field, the TCU Board of Trustees realized that a new stadium was necessary. Riding momentum from the team’s first Southwest Conference title, a football stadium began to take shape in 1929.
