John Linnell (16 June 1792 – 20 January 1882) was an English engraver, and portrait and landscape painter. He was a naturalist and a rival to the artist John Constable. He had a taste for Northern European art of the Renaissance, particularly Albrecht Dürer.
John Sidney Linnell (/ l ɪ ˈ n ɛ l / lih-NEL; born June 12, 1959) is an American musician and one half of the Brooklyn-based alternative rock band They Might Be Giants with John Flansburgh, which was formed in 1982.
John Linnell (1792-1882) was a naturalist and a rival to John Constable. He was also a friend and associate of William Blake and the Ancients, a group of artists influenced by Northern European art.

Peintre britannique (Londres 1792 Redhill, Surrey, 1882). Fils d'un graveur marchand de tableaux, il fut l'élève de Benjamin West et de John Varley avec W. H. Hunt et Mulready, qui l'influença profondément. Il gravait à la manière noire les œuvres de ses maîtres et exposa de 1813 à 1820 à l'Old Water Colour Society.
