James Howard Thome ( / ˈtoʊmi /; TOH-mee; born August 27, 1970) [1] is an American former professional baseball corner infielder and designated hitter, who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 22 seasons (1991–2012). He played for six different teams throughout his career, most notably the Cleveland Indians.
Jim Thome is a Hall of Fame first baseman who played for four teams from 1991 to 2012. He holds the record for most home runs by a left-handed hitter and won several awards, including the Roberto Clemente Award in 2002.
