Franz Klammer is a former champion alpine ski racer from Austria who dominated the downhill event for four consecutive World Cup seasons. He won the gold medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck, setting a record time on the Patscherkofel course, and also won 25 World Cup downhills, including four on the Hahnenkamm at Kitzbühel.
