Mark Rylance (de son vrai nom David Mark Rylance Waters) est un acteur, dramaturge et metteur en scène britannique né le 18 janvier 1960 à Ashford dans le comté du Kent. il est le premier directeur artistique du nouveau théâtre du Globe à Londres, entre 1995 et 2005.
Sir David Mark Rylance Waters ( / raɪləns /; born 18 January 1960) is an English actor, playwright and theatre director. He is known for his roles on stage and screen having received numerous awards including an Academy Award, three BAFTA Awards, two Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.
He played Thomas Cromwell in Wolf Hall (2015), BBC Two's adaptation of Hilary Mantel's historical novels Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies. For his performance, he was nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie.
