The Peel Session is a collection of recordings by Syd Barrett released on 25 January 1987. This EP contains the five songs he performed for the John Peel Top Gear show, recorded on 24 February 1970 and broadcast shortly after.
A very rare live set performed at the BBC studios by Syd Barrett with the help of Jerry Shirley and Dave Gilmour in February 1970 and later broadcasted. (Don't remember seeing/hearing anything about Rick Wright being in the studio though? Indeed, no keyboards are heard on the recordings...) This (bootlegged?) version of "The Peel Sessions" was ...

Recording began at Abbey Road Studios on 26 February 1970, and lasted for 15 sessions until 21 July. The album was produced by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour and Richard Wright, who also contributed on bass and keyboards respectively, along with previous Madcap contributor Jerry Shirley on drums.

The Peel Session (1 July, 1991): Recorded for John Peel's BBC radio show "Top Gear". Recorded on February 24, 1970 and transmitted March 14 the same year. Contains the otherwise unrecorded "Two of a Kind".
The session was recorded Feb. 24, 1970, with Barrett, David Gilmour on bass, and Jerry Shirley, of Humble Pie, on drums. (Gilmour had co-produced tracks on Barrett's first LP, and was producing the second album. Shirley had been recruited to play on both efforts.)
