The London Oratory School, also known as "The Oratory" or "The London Oratory" to distinguish it from other schools, is a Catholic comprehensive secondary school for boys aged 7–18 and girls aged 16–18 in West Brompton.
Founded in 1863 by the Oratory, the school aims to provide an excellent education of the intellect and the virtues. It is inspired by the example of St Philip Neri and the vision of St John Henry Newman, and has a motto of Respice Finem.
An Oratory education gives our young people every opportunity to draw out and find their individual innate gifts and qualities, and instils in them a sense of joy and a genuine love of learning. At The Oratory everyone will find their place to excel.
The Oratory School (/ ˈ ɒ r ə t ɒr i /) is an HMC co-educational private Roman Catholic boarding and day school for pupils aged 11–18 located in Woodcote, 6 miles (9.7 km) north-west of Reading, England.
