Jane Elizabeth Vasey (October 16, 1949 – July 6, 1982) was a Canadian blues piano player, best known for her years playing with the Downchild Blues Band. Vasey played with the band from 1973 until her death, from leukemia, on July 6, 1982.

They were the house band at the fabled Grossman's Tavern from 1968 to 1970, managed briefly by former folk musician, Ron Gerston. Classically trained pianist Jane Vasey joined the band in 1973. The initial blues musical influence on Donnie Walsh was Jimmy Reed.
Tribute to Jane Vasey One of the first tunes Jane Vasey recorded after she joined the Downchild Blues Band in 1973 was Otis Spann’s Must Have Been the Devil. Par for the course – Spann was one of the very first blues pianists she’d heard, and she always loved his music.
Pianist. Born at Winnipeg on 16 October 1949, daughter of Dorothy Mary Black (1920-2008) and Ross Emerson Vasey, she received a BA degree and Master's degree in Music from the University of Manitoba and was known as a “fine musician whose capabilities ranged from Bach to Blues.”
