Jonathan Daniel Donahue (born May 6, 1966) [1] is an American rock musician. He is best known as the frontman and a founding member of Mercury Rev, with whom he has released nine studio albums since 1991. He is also a former member of The Flaming Lips and recorded two albums with the group in the early 1990s.
Formé en 1989, Mercury Rev était composé originellement de David Baker au chant, Jonathan Donahue (chant et guitare), Sean Mackowiak (alias Grasshopper) (guitare et clarinette), Suzanne Thorpe (flûte), Dave Fridmann (basse) et Jimy Chambers (batterie). Ils enregistraient au début des bandes-sons pour des films expérimentaux.

Mercury Rev is an American rock band formed in 1989 in Buffalo, New York, [5] with singer/guitarist Jonathan Donahue and guitarist/clarinetist/sound generator operator Sean "Grasshopper" Mackowiak as the only constant members.
