Lydia Davis (born July 15, 1947) is an American short story writer, novelist, essayist, and translator from French and other languages, who often writes short (one or two pages long) short stories.
Lydia Davis est nouvelliste, essayiste et traductrice. Elle est aux États-Unis la traductrice de Maurice Blanchot, Michel Leiris, Pierre-Jean Jouve et surtout Marcel Proust. Elle a publié six recueils de nouvelles (dont Ce qu’elle savait, Phébus, 2005) et un roman (C’est fini, Phébus, 2007).
