Heatherdown School, formally called Heatherdown Preparatory School, was an independent preparatory school for boys, near Ascot, in the English county of Berkshire. Set in 30 acres (12 ha) of grounds, it typically taught between eighty and ninety boys between the ages of seven and thirteen and closed in 1982.

Il entre en septembre 1972, à la Heatherdown School (dans le Berkshire, près d'Ascot). Puis à l'âge de 13 ans il est envoyé à Gordonstoun en Ecosse . Après la fin de ses études en 1982, il devient professeur en Nouvelle-Zélande 3. Après son retour à Londres, il entre à l'université de Cambridge. Il obtient son diplôme en 1986. Après l'université.
