Gil Saunders (1952 – February 4, 2021) was an American soul singer who came to fame as lead singer with Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes.
4 févr. 2021 · (February 4, 2021) Tonight we say a sad goodbye to talented singer Gil Saunders, best known as the decade-long lead singer of the legendary act Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. Saunders died today after long battles with M.S. and, more recently, lung cancer.

Gil Saunders took the lead position in 1982, replacing David Ebo. With Gil Saunders, the group had success in the United Kingdom with the Philly World album Talk It Up (Tell Everybody) , and singles such as "Today's Your Lucky Day" and "Don't Give Me Up".
Gil Saunders (born 1952 - died February 4, 2021) was an American soul singer who came to fame as lead singer with Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes. Saunders left the Blue Notes in the mid-90s and progressed to a solo career, not long before Melvin’s untimely death in 1997 at age 57.
