The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, in New York City, was founded in 1949 by Adler. In 1969, it became the first professional training school to become affiliated with New York University 's Tisch School of the Arts. The studio became a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization in 2000.
The Stella Adler Studio of Acting is renowned for its responsible actor training. In all programs – from the full-time professional conservatory to seasonal workshops – students are provided a level of instruction that is unparalleled in the nation.
Since its founding in 1949, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting has trained thousands of actors, many of whom have gone on to important theater and film careers.
In 1972, the Stella Adler Studio of Acting became the first professional actor training school to become affiliated with NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts.
